Curfew and Rooming
Getting a full night’s sleep is one of the best ways to ensure teens stay healthy and engaged in the program. A curfew is currently set for 10:30-11 p.m. each night and will be enforced/ changed at the discretion of program staff. Teens are expected to abide by these curfew rules.
Hotel rooms are assigned on a single-gender basis. During free time, teens are allowed to hang out or rest in their own assigned rooms. On some occasions, they may be permitted to hang out in fellow teens’ rooms. However, such permission is subject to abiding by our “open door policy": There must be three or more athletes in a room during free time; they must be of the same gender; and they must keep the door open.
Emergency Button App
The Emergency Button App is mandatory for all participants. In case of an emergency, it will allow participants to contact the Games control center 24/7.
Food Delivery
Where free time and situations permit, teens can order food delivery at their own expense. No orders may be placed or received that break curfew, and food delivered after 10 p.m. will be confiscated. If teens are unsure about what is permissible, they should check with their delegation head or team leader.
Laundry
Upon returning to their village each night, athletes will turn in their uniform to be laundered. Laundry may not be returned until the second day, so athletes are encouraged to have three uniform tops. All uniform pieces—tops and bottoms—should be labeled with the athlete’s first and last name for easy identification. Alternately, athletes may turn in their uniform in a small mesh bag labeled with their first and last name.
The laundry will be collected until 8AM, and received Between 9PM-10PM
or
collected until 9PM and it will be received between 8AM-9AM the next day
Each room collects the laundry in the laundry bag on which the room number is written clearly, and places the bag in the HUGE laudry bag that will be placed according to the decision of the manager of each village.
Each HUGE bag concentrates several rooms, each room must place its sack in the HUGE bag of the group of rooms.
